FOLKS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THE PURCHASE OF A ROTARY RAZOR THAT IS BEING PROMOTED AS "AN INTIMATE AREA RAZOR" by any description, and it has round holes in the foil, it will pull hair and bite skin. These square holes were invented and patented by Seiko, and used originally on the Cleancut. What makes them important is the square holes, in conjunction with the blade under the foil, act as a pair of scissors. When the hair enters the square hole, it is pushed into a corner and cut by the blade AND foil, like the two blades of scissors. Round holes in a foil just allow the hair to be PULLED and Cut by the blade under the foil.
This is a critical defference! Don't be fooled!

Cleancut or Body Bare, Shaver Blade Assembly Height Adjustment
It is important to note, that it is not uncommon for the blades to require adjustment “right out of the box”. If your new razor does not perform as expected, follow the instructions to properly adjust the blade height.
Even an incredible piece of equipment like the Body Bare occasionally needs a little re-adjustment after use. If you notice that it just doesn't shave like it used to, or that it starts to grab a little, that usually means the blades have worn a little and need to be adjusted to compensate.
1. First, unscrew the shavehead/foil from the shaver body by turning it in a counter-clockwise direction.
2. Remove the white plastic blade assembly from the drive shaft simply by lifting it from the white plastic D-shaped shaft. Note that, when assembled, the blade assembly is gently seated against the inside of the shave head. At this point, it should look like this:

While firmly holding the white plastic blade assembly, use a small flat-blade screwdriver (the ones made for eyeglasses work great) to turn the small screw in the center (see photo below) of the blade assembly by 1/4 to 1/2 turn clockwise. This will push the screw a little further down into the assembly, which slightly raises the assembly against the drive shaft and the inside of the shavehead when reassembled. Be careful while handling the blade assembly. The blades are sharp and can cut you. They're not razor blade "you'll bleed if you touch them" sharp, but they're sharp enough to be aware of.
4. Reassemble and turn on the Body Bare. When you turn it on, the blade assembly should spin at a pretty good clip, but you should hear it "scraping" against the inside of the head. If you don't hear metal to metal contact, it isn't touching the inside surface of the shavehead. In this condition, it either won't shave at all, or it will grab and pull. If the blade assembly binds and spins slowly (or not at all) you have raised the blades too high and should correct the problem by disassembling the shave head again and lowering the blade assembly a little.
5. Trust us; you'll be able to tell by ear when the blades are properly adjusted. It will just sound "right." Test the unit on good stubble patches and make sure it works like it did when it was new. If not, you may want to adjust it further until you get it where it seems right to you.
6. If you just can't get it to return to the performance of the glory days of its youth, you may need to replace the shave head and blade assembly. We offer a Replacement Blade & Foil which includes a new shavehead/foil and a new blade assembly. Out of the Box Performance?
All rotary razors require that the Blade assembly be at the “Proper” height, in relation to the Shaving Foil, for optimum performance.
90% of razors will have this adjustment “close enough”, right out of the box, to perform as expected. For those few that do not perform as expected, right out of the box, the Blade Assembly needs to be adjusted!
Also, the blades are spring loaded, and are designed to be in constant contact with the underside of the shaving foil. This allows for the blades to be self sharpening, and as such, periodic adjustment will be required, as the blades and foil wear. Typically, adjustment is required every 3 months, or so, as performance noticeably declines.

Are these items New, never used, in an unopened box?
A. Yes, these items are new, never used. They are 100% tested and adjusted (further adjustment may be necessary by the user) prior to shipping. The testing process, utilizes a Make Up Brush, to simulate the cutting of hair. Ocasionally, some of these brush cuttings remain after the razor or trimmer being "Blown OUT" by using compressed air. Some customers have understandably been concerned that the razor or trimmer had been used. Rest assured! I don't sell used razors or trimmers! EVER!
Can I use the razor everyday?
A. Yes you can use everyday. It is important that you follow the directions. The important ones are;
1. Shave DRY! Before bathing. Use baby, talcum, or cornstarch powder, on the area to be shaved. The powder does two things for you. It acts as a dry lubricant, to avoid skin abrasion from the shaving foil (screen) passing over and over the skin, and it acts to absorb any residual moisture that may be present on the skin.
2. Insure that the blade on the Body Bare is adjusted properly. It's easy to do, just read the instructions.
Is it easy to use?
A. Yes! But depending on your hair type, some practice may be required to get the best results. Experiment with the technique you use to get the closest shave with the Body Bare. Not everybody has the same type of hair, skin, etc. Some hair grows straight out, while other hairs lay down and / or grow in different directions. Some people have light fine hair, while others have dark coarse hair. The person with the dark coarse hair will need to pay more attention to the technique used, to get a very close shave. By technique, I mean things like rotating the razor in a circular motion while passing it back and forth over the skin. If the hair lies down against the skin (even when stubble length) then "pinching" an inch of skin to make the hair stand up, is a good technique. The purpose of the trimmer is to cut the hair down to "short" stubble. Once this is done, and you continue to keep the area cut smooth, the trimmer will no longer be necessary. The longer the hair, the more it tends to lie down against the skin, making it difficult for the hair to go into the holes of the shaving foil. If the hair does not go into the foil, it won't be cut. You can run the Body Bare back and forth over long hair (arm hair for example) and it won't cut anything, because the hair won't go into the holes of the foil.
Like any trimmer, the Lady Fair and the Feminine will "bite" sensitive skin. The Lady Fair is an excellent trimmer for Women's legs, underarms, the back and chest of Men, etc. The Feminine is a much finer trimmer and will "bite" far less than the Lady Fair. It can be used on more sensitive areas of both Men and Women, with less concern about the Biting. Either can be used successfully on sensitive areas, but caution should be employed to avoid a "gotcha".
How close can it get?
A. The Body Bare ( and a few other fine rotary dry razors, such as the Seiko Cleancut and the Feather Touch) have the ability to cut closer than a normal blade razor. Most people scoff at this. I did until I was educated.
The relevant issue is moisture on the skin. When a blade razor is used, moisture is employed to soften the hair, in order for it to be cut more easily. The problem is that when skin is moist, it swells. If you cut the hair when the skin is swollen, you will have stubble as soon as the skin dries. The Body Bare type of razor ( and the Cleancut and Feather Touch) have a unique design of foil that has square holes instead of the typical round holes of other shavers. The big deal with the square holes is that when the hair goes into the hole, the blade passes by on the underside of the foil, pushes the hair into a corner, and cuts it like a pair of scissors. No pulling, no biting. Because it doesn't pull, it doesn't cut the hair below the skin. Having the hair cut below the skin level is a primary cause of ingrown hairs.
This product is new, straight from the factory to you ...! The razors are received, by me, inclosed in shrink wrap, 3 to a bundle. To send them individually, I must break the bundle! The resulting individual razor MAY not be incased in a sealed shrink wrap.
