You will find that having these layers will allow you to separate your herbal extract into different grades ranging from commercial grade to top quality Full Melt Bubble.The world famous BubbleBag system is the only cold water filtration system that offered you seven seperate layers of filtration, but now they have added a 90 micron EIGHTH bag.
The Bubblebags are made from industrial quality nylon with reinforced parachute stitching, which means they can be used over and over without any deterioration. The Basic Concepts
- The process involves separating the gland heads (crystals) from your bulk plant matter. The quality of the essences is the same whether it's made from actual flowers or just leaves.
- This separation is done by submerging the trim in ice water and agitating it for 15 to 30 minutes. This water is then filtered through the bags.
- This separation occurs because of the temperature-- the ice is very important!
- The amount of plant essences you get in return depends on the amount of resin on your starting material. It does not matter if you use dry material- fresh works just as well. Sometimes starting with dry material will give a higher yield but the product is not as pure.
- Be sure to freeze your starting material before use!

In addition to the Bubble Bag kit, you will need ice, water, a spoon (or a mixing device such as a hand mixer), a tea towel and a bucket (the size will depend on the kit used).
The original Bubble Bag system offers you eight layers of industrial grade filtration, which will allow you to extract the essential oils from almost any plant.
Line the bucket with your Bubble Bags, starting with the 25 micron bag and ending with the 220 micron bag.
Fill the bucket with enough cold water to cover the bottom of the Bubble Bags (about halfway full).
Add your dry or frozen plant trimmings.
Add enough ice to almost fill your bucket to the top.
Stir your mix for 15 to 20 minutes, adding ice if necessary. Then sit back for 30 minutes and let the Bubble Bags work their magic.
Pull out your Bubble Bags one by one, draining them into the bucket.
As you pull each Bubble Bag, turn it inside out after it is finished draining to collect your herbal extract.
Remove the excess moisture using the pressing screen and a tea towel, and use your new herbal extract!
