You're looking at a very original and beautiful 1956 Airfloat trailer, 20 long overall, 84" wide, with an all original and solid interior, floor and very straight body. This is a VERY rare trailer, my husband has 2 of these in his collection, the other is a 1955 pending sale to a buyer in Europe. The photo with 2 shows both, and the one with more desirable larger front window is the one on auction here, the 1956.
The wood inside is 100% complete and intact, its got a few places where its in need of varnish, and the whole varnish job is possible with a long weekend of sanding and brushing a couple coats of Captains Varnish in your choice of finish textures- satin, semi, and gloss- for that high shine. Its been wet, so shows some stains, but will varnish up perfectly. There is some mold, from being damp in the winter, its since been cleaned, but any knowledgeable vintage collector/buyer will replace the 50 year old fabric anyway. Marvel fridge is in good shape, original stove and all hardware is complete and looks good with minor cleaning and some attention to detail.
There is a window air conditioner in the rear that should come out and be replaced with glass, other than that, its in great shape and basically ready to camp and show. This is the type of collectors trailer that when it shows up at a rally, always draws a crowd. Its much more rare than most any normal Airstream. The portholes set it apart and make it the talk of the rally anywhere you'll take it. True attention getter.
Overall condition is great, floor is solid, frame is tight, wall studs are all flawless.
This is for sale out of my husbands collection, its possible to ship it worldwide, and we have a normal route to UK on a monthly basis for other trailers. This one fits in a container, and can go anywhere in the world. Shipping and packing is not included in the bid price, but a shipping package can be quoted or you can have it shipped from the port and storage facility where we have it in Seattle's very convenient port service area of Tukwila. Located just minutes from the SeaTac airport, if you'd like to arrange a viewing. USA local pickup is recommended, we offer no ground transport for this trailer in its location.
Ask any questions, request more photos of any details you'd like to see up close, and we encourage viewing prior to bidding whenever possible. This is a really nice and well preserved trailer, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how nice it is and how great it looks. Thanks for viewing and good luck.
