The Walker’s Digital DD uses two omni-directional microphones that are located in the front and the rear of the unit. Both microphones can be programmed by the user with the audible signal indicator switch for different settings, giving the user multiple hearing options. The Walker’s Digital Directional can be set to use the front or rear microphone independently or both front and rear microphones together. Each setting has its own unique feature which gives the user the ability to pinpoint sound- even in a noisy environment such as trying to hear range announcements during multiple shooting events or locating the direction of a distant gobble, bugle, or sounds of approaching game.
The Walker’s Digital Directional also has an internal induction coil which gives the user the capabilities of wireless communication. This function makes the Walker’s Digital DD suitable for cordless and digital telephones as well as walkie-talkie radios that utilize standard single-jack mini-plug connectors. A neck-loop/lapel microphone accessory available through Walker’s Game Ear Inc. gives the user the freedom of hands-free communication.
The sophisticated Walker’s Digital Directional technology utilizes a fully digital WDRC (Wide Dynamic Range Compression) amplifier which basically amplifies soft sounds such as leaves rustling from approaching game but does not amplify loud sounds such as the harmful affects of muzzle blast. The adjustable volume control has a maximum gain of 50 dB which enhances the users normal hearing up to nine times.
A noise reduction rating( NRR) of 29 dB coupled with CD-quality sound makes the new Walker’s Digital Directional the ultimate tool for outdoor enthusiasts.
