"WORMWOOD" PATTERN DAMASCUS STEEL LINER
entire frame and armature bar out of same billet. $10 dollar bill coil-covers. 3-color mokume-gane binders.
this a super cool piece of blade steel. it has a thick O-1 core sandwiched between "wormwood" damascus steel comprised of 280 layers of L-6, 1018, and pure-nickel. i ground the upright down so the core would show through. i can only imagine how beautiful a full length sword would be in this material. the heat-coloring for this project came out awesome! this stuff colors very, very well. the intricate pattern swirls on top of the O-1 core...neat stuff! i've had this one in my materials drawer for a couple years now and i can't remember the maker.
armature bar made out of the same billet. binders are copper, brass and nickel-silver twist pattern with a dark, rich patina. coils are covered in green sparkle shrink-wrap with real-live $10 dollar bills to power up your money magnet.
check the photo with the CX-2 meter to see stats and stroke. liner weighs 7.1oz shader weighs 8.2oz.
