True passive solar heating. This sale is for one unit size up to 24" wide x40"L. Unlike other solar window heaters that fit inside and block your window. Our unit rest on the window frame below your window for an unobstructed view, and to allow sunlight to pass thru your windows. These units are dual chambered one side is intake and the other is the hot air vent. You simply raise your window, slide the neck thru and close your window on top of the unit and seal it if necessary with weather stripping. The units are at a 90degree angle so they can be used on any floor of your home or building.
These units are very simple and light weight approx 15lbs. Basicly the sun shines thru the clear acrylic cover on the unit , and hits the internal black collector surface. As the collectors surface heats up it warms the surrounding air. As the warm air rises and vents into your home it creates a suction or a draw forcing the unit to pull cool air from inside your home thru the intake port. That cool air circulates thru the unit and once again over the hot collector surface. and there you have it free hot air HEAT. It's as simple as that no moving parts, no cords to plug in, no fan to worry about or thermostat to set.
Our heaters provide great supplemental heating, I use them in my own home, and they create enough heat during the daytime that my conventional heat pump doesn't need to run at all while the sun is shining . The only time my heat pump runs is in the early morning hours before the sun comes up and the house has started to cool down. But as soon as the sun shines these heaters are back hard at work. With direct sunlight it's amazing to watch the temperature jump an easy 40 - 50F degrees coming out of the top vent .
These heaters are a newer version of a unit designed in the 1970's and featured in the magazine Mother Earth News called a heat Grabber. I have re-designed these myself and made some improvements. We are now building and selling these units cheaper than most do-it-yourselfers can build them for.

When you place your order please send us you window measurements for the narrowest side to side point between your window frame. The units are built @ 24" wide, if your window is wider we will make and ship spacers with your unit. if you window is narrower we will build the unit to your measurements.
