This auction is for 2 Used Working Starkey Sequel CC hearing aids with batteries. These belonged to my father. He would get them from the VA but never got into the habit of wearing them. I tested both by installing a battery and I can hear amplification and feedback when adjusting. One hearing aid has red line indicating right ear and the other a blue line for the left. My understanding is that because they have the serial numbers on them they are in the original shells. They seem to be a generic fit. You can have new molds taken to get new custom shells made. New ear impressions can be made at your local hearing aid office. The batteries are installed by removing battery cover, installing the battery and sliding battery into hearing aid. I tried to show this in the pictures. I do not have the manual for these hearing aids.
These are USED HEARING AIDS with NO WARRANTY expressed or implied.
If this is your first time buying a hearing aid, I suggest that you first get an examination by a medical doctor (preferably an ear specialist) to specifically check for any of the following conditions:
1. Visible congenital or traumatic deformity of the ear
2. History of active drainage from the ear within the last 90 days
3. History of sudden or rapidly progressive hearing loss within
the last 90 days
4. Acute or chronic dizziness
5. Unilateral hearing loss of sudden or recent onset within the previous 90 days
6. Audiometric air-bone gap equal to or greater than 15 decibels at 500 (Hz), 1000 (Hz) and 2000 (Hz)
7. Visible evidence of earwax (cerumen) or any foreign body in the ear canal
8. Pain or discomfort in the ear
If you have any of the above please consult a medical doctor first. If you do not want a medical examination, the Federal Law allows a fully-informed adult to sign a waiver statement declining the medical evaluation.
" I have been advised by (tmc2001) that the Food and Drug Administration has determined that my best health interest would be served if I had a medical evaluation by a licensed physician ( preferably a physician who specializes in diseases of the ear ) before purchasing a hearing aid. I do not wish a medical evaluation before purchasing a hearing aids."

On Oct-05-08 at 19:59:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Before bidding on this auction please ask your local hearing specialist whether used working hearing aids can help your individual hearing loss. I know that hearing aids are very expensive and that used hearing aids can be an attractive option to people who otherwise would not be able to afford new ones. Please ask you local specialist whether a used working set of hearing aids can be adapted for your type of hearing loss.
I can only tell you that they are working and that my father never got into the habit of wearing hearing aids so they had very little use. I have very good hearing but tried them in my ear and can hear them on and amplifying. I know there is a technique to adjusting them without getting the tell tale feedback in you ear. I could adjust to get that squelling feedback to come and go. I thought after that I was going to need this set for myself but everything seems to be working.
Giving the current highest bid level I just wanted to add these comments.
Thank you
